SUWAMA, SUriname WAste MAnagement, was founded on April 15th 2008 and is registered in the foundation register of Suriname. SUWAMA Foundation is a nationwide operating foundation. “The immense pollution in Suriname, which is only growing instead of decreasing, has been the primary motivation for the foundation.”

SUWAMA has committed herself to make the entire Suriname environmentally aware and facilitate where possible, so that we handle our waste, biodiversity, water and energy in a sustainable and responsible manner.

Some successful projects SUWAMA has executed are:
